What's the company like? The company in question have a hugely dynamic Infrastructure as Code environment, trying their level best to adhere to the principles of test-driven development and service orientated architecture. You will be working closely with the development and operations teams responsible for setting up automated deployment pipelines and working to reduce release cycle times. You will have to think on your feet and will have a lot of scope it is your opportunity to shape the way that the Infrastructure is managed and have your input on key decisions made throughout the entire life-cycle of the product system. There will be further responsibilities liaising with numerous factions of the business based throughout the US, India and Brazil taking their thoughts and ideas into consideration and relaying this back to your teams in Glasgow. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned Infrastructure focused DevOps Engineer to make their mark in a Global organisation, adding value and consistency to the overall running of daily operations. What will I be doing? You will be supporting a large array of SaaS cloud environments across the business whilst maintaining a focus on automated deployment and virtualization of existing software whilst keeping ahead of the curve from IaaS to PaaS and Serverless solutions. You will need to be interested in understanding and developing the inner workings of cloud infrastructure, and how to develop it to accommodate the needs of the next generation of SaaS products. What will I need? Understanding of CI/CD processes Cloud: Azure / AWS Linux/Unix or Windows Systems Administration Automation tools: Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Salt or CFengine Scripting: PowerShell / Python or Perl Certs: AWS Certified Solutions Architect Automation: Git /Jenkins / Octopus / Arm / Ansible / Azure CLI Containerisation knowledge would be a plus: Kubernetes (K8's) We are looking for those with a strong technical background in Cloud Engineering with the ability to communicate with users across all levels of the business, both technical and non-tech.
