Automotive Service Evaluation Repair Process Engineer (SERP) Great opportunity for those interested in improving serviceability of future vehicles being released. You will be interrogating the design as a virtual vehicle technician through the use of CAD. Job purpose: We are currently looking for a dedicated Service Evaluation Repair Process Engineer (SERP) to support our prestigious Automotive OEM’s. To succeed in this role you will ideally have had some experience in the following areas; repair methods gained within either a reputable automotive dealership, or automotive manufacturing supply chain, Computer-Aided Design (CAD) models and the manipulation of CAD data. Your responsibilities will include development of vehicle serviceability assessments, issue identification and resolution, physical procedure validation on prototype vehicles. Who are you? To become a successful SERP Engineer here at Semcon you must be self-motivated, professional, able to communicate with staff and managers at all levels. You will probably have had some experience as a vehicle technician and are now seeking to develop this experience further. You will be a natural problem-solver, able to work proactively both individually or as part of a team to resolve a wide variety of technical issues. You will have a good working knowledge of vehicles and vehicle systems and an understanding of the latest vehicle technologies. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is essential and Microsoft PowerPoint would be beneficial. Position Description: • Examine design proposals on new vehicle programmes for potential serviceability issues • Carry out digital tool feasibility assessments • Carry out vehicle component removal and installation feasibility assessments using both virtual and CAD tool sets. • Create removal and installation processes to the trust mark authoring standards including; labour times to support issues and service requirements. This would be a full time permanent opportunity with scope to work alongside Automotive and Agricultural OEM’s, along with new and exciting Electric Vehicle start-ups.
