Chef DevOps Engineer - £50 - 60,000 per annum strong benefits - Fleet travel We are looking for a DevOps Chef Engineer to join a consultancy client of ours on a permanent basis. The initial project will be on a customer site based in Fleet. The right person enjoys working as part of a team, and would like opportunities to grow and develop their skillset across the board. To be successful you will be highly motivated to achieve the common goal and have a strong focus on quality. Our people enjoy working as part of a dedicated team and liaising closely with internal stakeholders such as our Engineers and Architects, Product and Marketing teams, Project Managers, Customer Support and Account Managers to deliver our software solution. Key responsibilities: Contribute in building enterprise software delivery patterns using build and release tools. Contribute on new and existing software build and delivery process. Develop, maintain and support high-quality in-house software build systems for Enterprise class software Automate scripts to deploy software in an automated process. Apply established design, best practices, tools, and configuration management principles as defined by the architect and the team Creation of configuration for internal customers responsible for scheduling and or deployment to Quality Assurance and development Integration environments Creation of configuration items for non-production environments to support Software Development Life Cycle for internal customers Contribute in implementing source code control management best practices Develop and maintain our internal release management process Creation and maintenance of an automated build/release scripts and plans Communicate effectively with members of software development and other project related groups to ensure processes and project objectives are met Contribute and review ongoing improvements of the implementation of standards, methods, and procedures for Software Configuration Management. Responsible for scheduling and deploying to QA, Staging and Production environments Essential skills and experience: Experience with Ruby Scripting CHEF Linux Shell scripting Good to have Infra Networking concepts Extensive knowledge of Chef Cookbook creation Play Book Deployment Version pinning. Develop configure and administer Chef and Application automation solutions Identify and address system performance bottlenecks in high availability environments Troubleshooting application middleware applications Coordinate overall deployments create deployment documents release plans and run books Damia Group Limited acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
