Overview
Eden Scott's Edinburgh based electronics manufacturing client is currently looking for a Hardware Engineer to join their successful, growing organisation. The position will involve working as part of the systems engineering team and will focus on defining and developing robust and flexible hardware solutions to match product needs and customer requirements. The successful candidate will be expected to support hardware in the field and manage distribution and returns. Duties include: Hardware development - schematic capture, PCB design, microcontroller firmware development, design verification and testing Hardware support - enhancements, user support distribution and returns Hardware re-work - board debug, failure analysis and repair Candidate will ideally be qualified in a relevant discipline (e.g. Physics / Electronics Engineering) with at least 3 years experience working in a similar position. Additional experience required includes experience of schematic capture tools (Altium), analogue circuit design experience, knowledge of PCB layout / tracking rules, design experience with serial interfaces (USB, I2C, SPI,). A familiarity with Python, C++, C# is highly advantageous as is experience of microcontroller firmware development and knowledge of Altium PCB layout tools.
