Title: Digital Design Engineers - Electronics Job Description: Job Description QuEST is recruiting experienced Digital Hardware design engineers to our team supporting our customer in Edinburgh. The role would be based out of our customer facility in Edinburgh. The selected candidates would be QuEST employees/ work for QuEST but working onsite at our customer facility. What type of work would I be involved in? You will be responsible for designing high speed digital Print Circuit Boards that utilise the latest FPGA, Microprocessor and high speed interconnect technologies. Note, that due to the nature of the tasks involved, you will have to achieve full SC security clearance, and may need to satisfy further UK eyes only and ITAR conditions. Responsibilities Reporting into our customer's Lead Digital Hardware Engineer you will be responsible for; * Designing high speed digital Print Circuit Boards that utilise the latest FPGA, Microprocessor and high speed interconnect technologies. * Supporting throughout the fill hardware lifecycle from requirements analysis; through design, and unit test; to integrating hardware with the target system; and lastly to acceptance test and delivery to customer. * Fully documenting and recording your work products; keeping them under configuration management, and providing plans and progress reports * Working closely with Systems, Mechanical and Software engineers to solve real integration problems on complex systems * May have opportunity to contribute towards the investigation and analysis of leading edge development methodologies and influence the future path of hardware development. Skills, Qualifications and Knowledge Experience in the below would be advantageous, however not essential; * Analysing system level requirements documents and understanding their application to Hardware designs * Schematic Capture using Mentor Graphics Dx Designer or equivalent. * Hardware design of complex FPGA based designs is essential * High speed serial communication protocols and architectures * Hands on experience of Hardware, Firmware & Software Integration of Micro Processor Based designs onto hardware platforms is essential * A methodical approach to the full hardware design lifecycle, working to a structured hardware process is required * De-bugging and testing new designs and supporting module and system related test, verification and integration project phases as required by a development type programme prior to system deliveries. * Ability to interface with suppliers of key components and assemblies. * Ability to communicate effectively across different disciplines both verbally and in written form. * Ability to work on own or as part of a team to resolve technical issues Auto req ID: 13407BR Job Type: Full Time-Regular Assignment Country: United Kingdom Total Years of Exp: 7+ Education Type: B.E/B.Tech/BS-Electrical and Electronics Engineering Assignment State: Edinburgh Assignment Location: Edinburgh Experience Level: Mid Level
