Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced and hands-on Data Governance specialist to join their business which is currently moving through a period of transformation. The role will manage and govern the formation, execution and day-to-day application of a new data strategy for the business including customer systems and solutions. There is an opportunity to join at the start of an exciting and challenging journey and play a key role in defining best-practise and approach to business process and data. As Data Governance Manager you will work closely with key stakeholders and engage in a number of our strategic transformation and redesign programmes. The aim being to ensure they place data at the heart of design and solution formation for systems and processes. The role will lead the end-to-end processes for defining data strategy, master data management, data optimisation and flow controls, as well as removing redundant, repetitive and mis-aligned approaches. Whilst strategic this needs someone who at the same time will dive into projects, programmes and get hands-on with systems, changes and deployments. Key will be the defining of which systems own and lead on critical MDM and unique data entities. There will be a need to put in place the control, documentation and processes for the data strategy, including best-in-class and standardised approaches to managing data models, libraries and controls. With limited focus today, there is a real opportunity to build from the bottom up and implement best practises without too many existing ways or working around data and related strategy. The role Formation and Execution of a business wide data strategy The day-to-day management and governance of the data strategy The creation of documentation, libraries and processes to drive governance and communications of the data strategy and operating principles/controls Engagement across the business key functions, i.e. Finance, Sales, Account Management, HR Mapping of data entities across the business and customer systems Design of data controls and MDM approaches as part of system change and transformation. Mapping data journeys and relationships through our end-to-end business Contributing to projects and programmes where data approaches need to be simplified and standardised in line with the strategy and defining MDM principles. Ensure ISO and GDPR Compliance across all data activity and is embedded in our data strategy. Requirements • Data Management and Strategy Experience • Experience of defining and delivering data strategy from ground up. • BI and Analytics experience: QLIK-Sense and Tool Preferred • Experience of the following platforms would be of value; ? Dynamic 365 (Business Central) ? O365 and Tooling ? Salesforce • Business & Data Analysis • Programme Management • Stakeholder Management • Experience of implementing strategy, solutions and governance models for data • Experience of documenting requirements, business processes and aligned data entity, flows, controls as part of data modelling and MDM. • Experience of working business function data and customer generated data • Ability to manage key stakeholders and departments through system and process changes The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to think strategically and analytically have worked in a similar role with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience.
