Leading US Law Firm has created a new role as a Proposal Specialist to become a valued member of the global Marketing & Business Development team. In this role you will contribute to a dynamic team by preparing proposals, pitches and bids through formal RFP response processes as well as assisting on ad hoc business development opportunities for the European offices. You will be tasked to serve as the marketing lead for proposals (single-practice proposals and, as needed, complex cross-border/multi-practice projects) - including developing a work plan and a schedule for completion of tasks, collaborating with lead lawyer(s) to develop direction, themes and value propositions and work with other marketing team members contributing to individual practice/regional sections, writing new business proposals and produce targeted, tailored responses and presentation materials under the direction of (Senior) Marketing and Business Development Managers, including meeting coordination and logistics and coordinate with other departments such as Strategic Planning/Accounting, Office of General Counsel, Market Intelligence and Creative for requirements and data as necessary, contributing to global RFPs and pitches as necessary, coordinating the RFP follow-up and tracking process to collect feedback, communicate lessons learned, trends and report results including proposal activity and win/loss information, as well as preferred provider panel appointments and similar designations, collaborating with the department’s U.S. based Proposals Team to develop and implement best practices, processes and supporting materials related to preparing proposals, presentations, pitches and other similar business development communications and implement established processes and best practices for updating the Firm’s experience management system and business development database as well as practice materials with new matter information gathered in proposal responses. Applicants require a minimum of 5 years relevant marketing/business development experience with a full understanding of the proposal process for preferred panel appointments and organising RFP tenders, be degree educated and demonstrated excellent writing, editing, proofreading and researching skills.
