Quality Control Inspector - late shift Mon to Thurs

Overview

Encocam engineering are looking for a Quality Control Inspector to work the late shift (14:00 – 0030 Monday - Thursday) making sure all our products up to standard when they leave our factory in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire . This is a 40 hours per week position. We make composite panels and crash test dummies (also known as ATDs) under our different divisions, so you will be responsible for quality monitoring, checking materials, and recording results to ensure all products reach the necessary specification before delivery to our worldwide customers. Key tasks and responsibilities Perform visual inspections of materials and components prior to manufacture, liaising with Stores and manufacturing as required. Take responsibility for quality control of all manufactured components within the Stonehill site. Perform mechanical inspections of in-process and finished manufactured components via CMM and manual equipment in a timely manner so as not to delay production. Responsibility for acceptance or rejection of materials, in-process and finished items according to defined requirements. Read and understand technical documents/drawings and specifications, including dimensioning and tolerancing. Assist in developing product Quality Plans to define required inspection needs. Understand business implications of quality monitoring and measurement. Manage reject documentation/processes in accordance with company procedures, returning clearly identified components and paperwork to the relevant team leader. Complete concessions and product investigations as required and to company procedures. Perform internal calibration of measurement equipment for all divisions on the Stonehill site, as directed by Q&E team manager in a timely manner. Keep measurement equipment operating accurately by following operating instructions, calling for repairs/calibration as required. Provide assistance in quality system certifications to ISO 9001, AS9100, and any other specified standards. Assist in continuous improvement with a focus on the quality of manufactured components. You must have previous experience of factory production work as well as quality inspection using typical measuring equipment. You will have good attention to detail and a logical, methodical approach ensuring accurate measurements and figures. You must have good report writing skills and will also be patient, as some test are complex and take a long time to complete.
