We are looking for friendly and positive Support workers who will work closely with the team to promote a positive culture in the services.We are looking for a wake night support worker to join our fantastic person-centered support team in Broseley. This post will be to support an adult male who is funny, caring and knowledgeable about TV programmes, current affairs and sport. This individual has a learning disability and complex mental health needs and requires 1-1 support in their own home which means lone working is expected. This opportunity will give you the satisfaction of delivering first class support in a positive behaviour organisation. You will need to be a calm, caring, supportive person and a good listener to enable you to support adults to maximise their independence and well-being. You will have a ‘can do’ attitude and be ‘Person-centred’ You will need to have a flexible approach to work and be able to adapt to the needs of the people we support and the organisation. The position is best suited to people with energy, enthusiasm and an understanding of the barriers associated with various types of disabilities About our organisation Bethphage is a registered charity which was established in 1994 and provides support to adults with learning and physical Disabilities in Shropshire and the West Midlands. Everything we do is individually designed to enable people to achieve their potential and meet their objectives and need for support. The people that we support may live in their own home, a home that is shared with other people, their family home or a shared care home. It is the aim of Bethphage to provide outstanding care and support throughout the organisation so it essential that you will be dedicated to providing the highest levels of care that you can. You will be required to create a team that champions excellent support by actively coaching and modelling respectful positive approaches to achieve the greatest possible independence and quality of life for the people we support, based on an understanding of what is important to and for them. The user of Bethphage service has autism and routine and rituals are really important. The user of the service will often spend time on their computer in their study doing research and playing games such as Scrabble. This person likes music especially 80’s and 90’s music and has an extensive knowledge of chart music. Sometimes this individual will interact with you but often you will be lone working in their home on a 1:1 basis. This individual needs help with everyday tasks such as cooking, cleaning, shopping, finance and medication.
