Overview

This role reports to the Deputy Director for Organised Immigration Crime (OIC), Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking (MSHT), Borders and Commodities, Threat Leadership and is responsible for coordinating the Agencies Strategy towards Organised Immigration Crime (OIC) in line with the Home Office Illegal Migration Strategy. The role includes direct line management of the Project INVIGOR Coordination team, as well as funding bids for the OIC uplift and Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Unit (MSHTU). This role will be responsible for managing significant relationships, from NCA Commands’ to wider government strategy partners including Home Office, Immigration Enforcement, Border Force and Policing. Some elements of work will include International partners and the FCO to manage the near Europe Strategic relationships and delivery. You will directly support Project INVIGOR which is the NCA-led UK law enforcement Taskforce response to Organised Immigration Crime (OIC). This is a high-profile and politically sensitive project that involves over 150 staff from across government departments focused on a high priority threat area. Job description Main Responsibilities will include: • Working closely with the Deputy Director - lead and direct the strategic response to both Organised Immigration Crime (OIC) and Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking (MSHT) bids ensuring that there is a robust governance structure and performance regime in place to underpin reporting requirements both internally and to external funding providers (Project INVIGOR). • Manage external budgets, ensuring that spend is appropriate and quality assured, implementing a forecasting process and managing change requests for submission to the SRO (Project INVIGOR). • Line Management for the INVIGOR Coordination team • Direct, work extensively with and attend cross HMG and European partner committee/meetings representing the agency and deputising for the DD as required. • Ensure delivery of Unit priorities, working closely with the Joint Slavery and Trafficking Analysis Centre, Investigations, NCA Strategy and the wider Threat Leadership Command; • Represent the NCA externally both in the UK and abroad at a number of presentations, panels and events on Organised Immigration Crime; • Build and maintain close working relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including at senior (Chief Constable / Director) level to drive delivery of the Organised Immigration Crime Strategic Action Plan and elements of the government’s Illegal Migration Strategy All NCA officers must hold SC Enhanced upon entry as a minimum. To meet the National Security Vetting requirements for this role you will need to have resided in the UK for a minimum of 3 out of the past 5 years.
