Overview
LLC are seeking to appoint an ambitious and highly motivated individual to join our Senior Management Team. London Learning Consortium (LLC) is a Prime Post 16 skills provider based in London and the South East. We have been established social enterprise for over 15 years with a Grade 2 Ofsted (Nov 2017). LLC and its community partners deliver a range of adult and young people’s programmes across the Capital and down to the City of Brighton & Hove. Reporting to the CEO and serving as an integral member of the Senior Management Team, the Director of Finance and Resources will be responsible for the development of London Learning Consortium’s (LLC) financial management and contribute to the development of the organization’s strategic goals. This includes our transition to a new group structure and harmonizing financial and other back office services. Leading our Financial and Resources Team the post holder will be responsible for the overall financial management of LLC and its subsidiaries and the line management of the associated ICT, MIS, HRM, and Premises. A key aspect of this role would initially be leading our Financial and Resources through change and adapting our core services to meet our new strategic aims. The role will include the regular review, development and implementation of appropriate policies and procedures to support the needs of the organisation and demanded by the funding environment (which include GLA/ESFA) in which LLC and its subsidiaries operate. As Director of Finance and Resources you are required to report timely, accurate and relevant information to management, our Finance & Risk Committee and the full board. This role is a proactive and diverse but highly rewarding. Essential Criteria: Educated to degree standard e.g. Business or Accounting degree or Master's in Business Administration CIMA / ACCA /CPA preferred Minimum 3 years' experience in a Senior Management role ideally with both external audit and in-house financial management experience gained in a high-growth service delivery Organisation Experience either as an employee or board member of a non-profit organization; and familiarity with non-profit finance and accounting regulations is an advantage. Proven track record of success facilitating progressive organizational change and development within a growing Organisation. Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills including negotiation and conflict resolution skills. Proficient user of IT including accounting software, MS Office, MIS spreadsheets and databases. Excellent numeracy and literacy skills Excellent customer facing skills. Experience of liaison with internal and external stakeholders. Experience of Government funding audit and compliance processes. Experience of implementing performance management systems. Experience of managing contractual partnership provision in FE environment. Desired Criteria: Experience of delivering training on audit and compliance procedures and processes. Experience of delivering training on performance management Superior management skills; ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports and peers Self-reliant, good problem solver, results oriented Energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive; a team leader who can positively and productively impact both strategic and tactical finance and administration initiatives. Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with senior management, LLC's board of directors, and staff. Ability to operate as an effective tactical as well as strategic thinker Key Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of ESFA and DFE funding methodology, contract performance and its application to subcontracted provision Extensive knowledge of ESFA and EFA audit and compliance requirements Applicants should have recent relevant Government Funding experience, including management of contractual partnership provisions in an FE environment.
