Overview
Our client who has solid experience in real estate and short-term property finance is rapidly expanding and looking for an experienced underwriter to join their friendly team. For this role you will be expected to have relevant experience in underwriting short term bridging and development loans You will undertake a robust underwriting function in accordance with the lending policy, and prepare loan packages for consideration by the internal lending/credit committee. You will be expected to analyse an applicant's financial data to determine loan viability and risk and be able to interpret and evaluate external credit reference agency data, as well as also liaising with borrowers/brokers throughout the process to ensure all stakeholders are updated and cases are progressed as swiftly as possible. Along with being resilient, confident and committed with the ability to engage and form strong relationships with key internal stakeholders: Head of Lending, Senior Management Team and the Compliance Team, you will also be able to demonstrate a good understanding of the following: credit referencing agency reports, KYC/AML reports, financial crime regulation, land registry searches and property valuations. With strong attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills you will also possess ability to plan, organise, prioritise and manage time.
