Overview

The Role Assist the Senior Tax Manager in updates to the PESM, preparation of reports and support Accounts Payable team with any tax related queries Assist the Senior Tax Manager in all aspects of corporation tax compliance for the bank and the Branch (critical focus will be on ensuring that the underlying data and information required for monthly Corporate tax computations are complete, accurate and comply with the Tax legislation - e.g. Transfer Pricing; CATA calculations). Work closely with the Senior Tax Manager in the preparation, implementation, update and maintenance of all tax policy and procedure manuals of the bank in London Assist in the completion of quarter-end and year-end business forecasting as requested by HO or management Quarterly reporting (to local senior management and HO) and Annual Report and Accounts for London entities Annual CRD IV Country-by Country Reporting Annual BEPS Country by Country Reporting Quarterly UK Payment Arrangement Calculations Annual Budget Plan (3-year forecast) In conjunction with other business managers, ensure that adequate tax/accounting and other records and internal controls in the finance areas are maintained (particularly with ref to Tax Risk Management) Assist the Senior Tax Manager in maintaining a Tax Risk Register and ensure that any deficiencies in controls identified by Operational Risk (via the Risk Evaluations & Controls Assessment) is remediated in a timely manner Liaise with the external auditors and assisting in preparing statutory and regulatory financial statements Assist and support Senior Tax Manager or Financial Reporting teams to develop reporting, budgeting and forecasting of tax related balances Co-ordinate with Head Office and locally in London with Senior Tax Manager and other Finance team members in preparing interim and annual audit pack as required Assist the Senior Tax Manager to enhance the quality and efficiency of the production of all tax related reporting as necessary Read and understand the Risk Management & Compliance framework (and the policies referenced therein), the Joint Tax Risk Management Policy, the Joint Compliance Manual, Joint Conduct Risk Policy, Joint Conflicts Management Policy, the Joint Anti-Bribery & Corruption Policy and the UK Staff Handbook Identify, report and escalate material risk events, including conduct risk events and conflicts of interest, or losses to Senior Tax Manager or the Head of Department Properly use of IT systems and of data, particularly personal data, in accordance with the Joint IT Security Policy and the Joint Data Protection Policy and any applicable departmental procedures Other ad hoc projects assigned by CEO , CFO, Head Of Finance Ideal Candidate Proficiency in spoken and written English and Mandarin Professional qualification in accounting/finance discipline Experience working at a similar level, within accounting, banking or auditing fields, preferably in the financial services sector Highly competent in producing written reports A strong knowledge of tax accounting, IFRS accounting standards and theory, and financial reporting principles Good working Knowledge of UK taxation requirements - direct and indirect taxes Proficiency for making financial evaluations and adjustments and an ability to present recommendations, both oral and written Excellent IT skills including MMS office and Excel If your application is successful, you will be contacted within 2 days.
