JOB PURPOSE The Receptionist works alongside the Administration Manager in ensuring that the Home is well managed and that all policies and procedures are adhered to. He/she should assist the Administration Manager and the Home Manager obtain/maintain a Good CQC rating for the Home and support him/her in ensuring that the requirements relating to Health and Safety, Local Authority, Environmental and other regulatory bodies are adhered to. A staff development programme operates, and all staff are required to keep up to date in accordance with the government legislation. CRITERIA REQUIREMENTS The post holder must hold the relevant qualifications and or experience. It is important to have an empathy with the elderly and have effective communication skills with all people involved in the Group. A confident telephone manner and an ability to promote the Home is an essential requirement. A smiling face is important in the world of the receptionists. Expected to be incredibly organised and friendly, this role is so much more than picking up the phones. We will expect you to welcome visitors in a friendly, professional way. You'll also make sure the Visitor's Book is completed properly and that the right team member is told of the arrival. You'll need a courteous telephone manner and be able to reply promptly to email enquiries. The Group operates specialised IT systems including Staff Time & Attendance, residents' Computerised Care System and eLearning/Training logging software. Following training, effective knowledge and operation of all relevant systems will need to be demonstrated as part of the job requirement. Qualifications Required: - Sound Educational Background English Language Certificate Clearance from DBS and POVA listing Skills and Knowledge Needed: Good communication & interpersonal skills An understanding and empathy with elderly Excellent organisational & numeracy skills Proficiency in IT Team Player Previous exposure to problem-solving and client enquiries Dementia knowledge is desirable
