An exciting opportunity has become available to join us as a part-time Associate Specialist at Cygnet Hospital Ealing, New Dawn Ward. Cygnet Health Care is one of the UK's largest independent providers of specialist mental health treatment and associated care across a range of mental health services. We aim to appoint an Associate Specialist to work part-time (24 hours per week), sharing work with another Associate Specialist in post who is providing cover on Monday and Tuesday. The post holder will be based in the 9 bed specialist Tier 4 female personality disorder ward at Cygnet Hospital Ealing. He/she will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide medical input into the safe & effective management of female patients who have a diagnosis of personality disorder and who need either a short-term crisis intervention or a longer-term therapeutic treatment programme. We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Associate Specialist to join the Cygnet Healthcare Ealing team. You will closely work with a committed MDT and act as a fully involved practising Psychiatrist, holding responsibility for all patients assigned to them under the supervision of the responsible Clinician and Consultant Psychiatrist. Personal development opportunities exist by way of an academic program for medical staff. There will also be the opportunity to undertake clinically relevant research, audit and contribute to the unit quality improvement initiatives. This post provides an exciting opportunity to work in a specialist, tertiary-level service and for the successful candidate to contribute to the development of the services as they respond to the changing healthcare landscape. We Are Looking For People Who Have: Full GMC registration along with post registration experience Recent experience in personality disorders and General Adult Psychiatry Knowledge of current issues in personality disorders and General Adult Psychiatry Relevant experience of DBT training and training in a number of therapeutic approaches The ability to interview and assess patients whilst making informed decisions in reference to appropriate treatment options Excellent communication skills and the ability to write clear comprehensive medical notes Excellent knowledge of the Mental Health Act and Code of Practice along with Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Code of Capacity Up to date record of Continued Professional Development (CPD) The ability to work as part of a Multidisciplinary Team Desirable: MRCPsych or equivalent In Return, We Will Offer You: Salary up to £84,000 pro rata (Depending on Experience) NHS Discount Tier 2 Sponsorship can be offered Study leave to attend CPD opportunities, conferences etc. Monthly CPD Grand Rounds where you will attend educational meetings and get the opportunity to meet fellow psychiatrist from across the region. You will be assigned an educational supervisor who will review your progress weekly and oversee your educational development.
