Lead Product EV Safety Engineer

Due to our continued growth we are now recruiting for Lead Product EV Safety Engineer . This role will be based at our European HQ in Warwick. Our Engineering Research and Development department (ER&D) is a fast growing function within Tata Technologies Limited that is assembled to work on exciting projects globally for multiple customers. It comprises highly specialized engineers across Automotive, Aerospace and Industrial Heavy Machinery. THE ROLE Responsible for Electric Vehicle Safety Framework project definition and delivery. The role demands a high level of diligence driven by an informed EV Safety Authority, applied through collaboration between Propulsion Engineering and the Safety, Health and Environment function. You will be comfortable with developing relationships to work closely across the business functions and deliver a consistent EV Safety Policy. AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY Deliver ALL necessary technical guidance and authority to achieve high standards of High Voltage electrical safety, focusing on four main areas: General EV Safety Precautions Authorisation and Training Safety Process and Documents Work on Energy Systems Main Responsibilities: Demonstrate a strong understanding of Electric Vehicle system safety along with a Quality focused approach Contribute to the management and delivery of the Propulsion EV safety strategy Support the wider team to meet project deliverables consistently across all business functions Support technical issue management resolution Redefine EV Safety Policy for all business functions Ensure a data driven approach, promoting compliance to appropriate safety regulation Establish EV safety standards, requirements and design rules Specify business function specific EV safety rules Specify EV emergency protocol across all functions Respond to project actions and requirements, factor plans and deliverables Maintain transparent plan performance status KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE Essential: Minimum of 3 year of experience within an engineering discipline Knowledge of EV safety concepts and Safety Regulations Experience on and around BEV and PHEV system solutions and technologies Demonstrable a knowledge in systems engineering theory Demonstrable knowledge in systems engineering theory Experience with official document creation Previous experience within Vehicle Engineering, Powertrain, Electrical or Service Manage internal relationships in complex stakeholder environments Strong people skills with the ability to work individually and cross functional teams Excellent communication and presentation skills Experience of meeting deadlines Desirable: Project management experience Degree qualified in an Engineering specialism Knowledge of automotive Power Supply Systems Experience of automotive diagnostic systems Ability to develop cross functional teams with excellent levels of communication Experience of Standard / Requirement definition A working knowledge HSE regulation and Market of Sale legislation Experience of interacting with technicians within retailer network Experience of communicating on a global scale Experience of complex high voltage systems and safe operating conditions Qualified in the use of 6 sigma toolset or similar methodologies Experience of management of outsourced projects with strategic suppliers Experience in the development of Service tools and processes Experience of Training development or training delivery In return for bringing your expertise to our business we offer a competitive salary along with excellent benefits including: Pension Scheme – We match employee contribution up to 5% of salary 25 Days’ Holiday Private Health Care Tata Jaguar Land Rover Privilege Scheme - up to 20% of new JLR vehicles Group Income Protection Health Assured – Employee Assistance Program Group Life Assurance Childcare Vouchers Health Shield – Private Health Cash Plan If you are passionate about bringing innovation to the projects you work on and want to join a global company, then this is the place for you.
