Delivery Lead for Governor Services Warwick 0.8 FTE Permanent About us and the role This is an exciting opportunity to lead and support the Local Authority's role in developing school governing bodies to promote high standards in all schools. The key focus of this role is to provide leadership for Warwickshire's School Governance Service. Carry out the Council's statutory duties relating to school governance and schools causing concern. Further develop the well-established and successful clerking services and governor training programme and ensure these services operate cost effectively. We are looking for someone who has the background and knowledge suitable to this role. Key Requirements You will: possess a detailed understanding of the statutory requirements of local authorities in relation to school governance and schools causing concern. Have at least 3 years' recent experience as a school governor and as a Chair of a school governing body. Have worked with school governing bodies and senior leaders in education settings Have experience of leading and managing successful services and teams. Experience of working as either a National or Local Leader of Governance. Have a good understanding of School governance and Ofsted - the impact and emphasis on the role that the governing body plays under the "quality, leadership and management" judgement. A good understanding of the role that clerking plays in effective school governance. To be successful in this role you will: possess excellent communication skills, including building and maintaining relationships with a range of partners/stakeholders. Have a successful track record of working with school leaders and governing bodies. Have experience of managing a successful traded service. Experience and understanding of budget management. A commitment to delivering high quality services Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check required - must achieve satisfactory clearance at offer stage.
