Overview

We're looking for a candidate to fill this position in an exciting company. Mix of Monolith apps and microservices with message data analysis and message flow orchestration. JVM applications deployed at scale across a multi-regional data center configuration. Java is the dominating programming language, with Python close behind. Use of open-source software e.g. Hadoop, Druid, Netty, ZooKeeper, Kafka, Giraph and more. Leading the user-experience and design for a new platform to increase user engagement with a modern web and mobile experience through multiple message channels: Moving toward (partly there) cloud-native microservices and API-everything architecture using many AWS (primarily) and some other Cloud services. Serverless and multi-cloud are and will be a part of our future platform. Micro-front ends web with responsive, mobile first design plus native mobile app development. Many modern techniques, including Agile/Scrum and User-centered Design, CI/CD and DevSecOps practices. 15 years of progressive UX design leadership; experience in managing a UX team of engineers and delivering product projects in a large-scale and complex business setting; familiar with Lean UX and Design Thinking.​ Data driven, well versed in modern product discovery techniques and rapid experimentation.​ Excellent verbal and written communication skills; communication down the line with UX team and collaborating throughout the product organization, and with key stakeholders.​ Interpersonal skills will facilitate smooth collaboration and relations not troubled by complications, disagreements, able to move and convince people to follow them.​ Ability to continuously get results and displaying a high level of confidence not just in them self, but in others to inspire and motivate them. Can drive vision and purpose: Paint a compelling picture of the vision and strategy that motivates others to action. Have a strategic mindset: See ahead to future possibilities and translate them into breakthrough strategies. Skill to drive engagement: Create a climate where people are motivated to do their best to help the organization achieve its objectives. Bachelor’s degree in related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
