About the role The role of Senior Network Administrator will be involved in the effective management, support, and maintenance of all aspects of the server and network infrastructure in use at Ecorys UK. With the support of the IT manager, they should ensure that the highest level of security is applied throughout and that all services are available to 300 staff during core working hours. The Senior Network Administrator will need to ensure that all server & network infrastructure, is secure, up to date, & available for use during core working hours (40 Wintel Servers, Aruba Switches, Sonicwall NSA’s). Also, manage and maintain the deployment policies & software packages for the core workspace devices. (Microsoft Intune, Ivanti Workspace, Group Policy, PDQ). In addition, the Senior Network Administrator will deploy/migrate new servers & network infrastructure to support the business needs as required, and implement, manage, monitor & test backup policies for Server, Data & core infrastructure (Altaro, Asigra, Arcserve). Providing customer-focused support is also important and the role will have a high profile in serving as the primary escalation point for support cases that need to be handed to Systems Administration from the helpdesk team. Working closely with IT colleagues at other Ecorys Group countries to ensure strategies and technologies are aligned is also key, to provide out of hours coverage to support server and network infrastructure as and when required. This role is based in Central Birmingham with occasional travel to UK office and European offices. Role Requirements It is essential that you can have significant hands-on experience with VMWARE virtualisation technologies, Microsoft Active Directory/Azure and also significant hands-on experience administering managed Window Operating systems in a corporate network environment (Intune/SCCM/Ivanti). Extensive understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) is critical. Demonstrable experience of administering and managing Microsoft Office 365 is also important.
