Overview
JRS are currently recruiting for an Purchasing Assistant to join our thriving client and assist with their growth. This is an excellent opportunity to enjoy a central role, supporting the Operations Director and Senior Buyer with the day to day duties of a busy Purchasing Department. The primary objective of the Purchasing Assistant role is the on-time delivery focused purchase and expediting of materials, services and equipment for the whole company. Duties include - Purchasing Assistant Purchase parts, equipment and materials in a cost effective and timely manner, ensuring the company exceeds their on-time delivery target of 85% Expedite and order materials/services against approved quotes in line with planned delivery dates to the end customer Preparation of purchase requisitions and approval and issuance of purchase orders to suppliers Efficiently maintain stock levels in line with the MRP, production lead times, customer delivery programmes and planned requirements Work closely with the appropriate departments, with the emphasis of on-time delivery Identify, research and introduce new suppliers as required Build relationships with existing and new key suppliers, helping improve on-time delivery goals and reduce supplier lead time and quality non-conformities Work closely with department managers to identify, separate and control non-conformant materials and supporting documentation Maintain accurate procurement files across all systems Assist with the development and implementation of purchasing strategies for products Required Skills - Purchasing Assistant Minimum 2 years relevant experience within a purchasing environment Electronics or machined parts buying experience desirable Knowledge of Sage 200 is desirable but not essential Excellent interpersonal and team working skills Proficient at multi-tasking Ability to work with minimal supervision and use own initiative High attention to detail and high levels of accuracy Excellent written and verbal communication skills essential along with confident telephone manner Benefits include - Purchasing Assistant £18,000 - £20,000 depending on experience Company bonus Company lunch provided Working 40 hours per week Flexible working times between the hours of 8am and 6pm Company pension Should your application be successful, you will be contacted by one of our consultants.
