Overview

Sense are currently recruiting for a Senior Support Worker at our service in Aylesford. This is a full time position working 37.5 hours per week. You will work alongside a registered manager, supporting a team of support workers to provide support to 4 adults residing in a supported living service About the role You will need to manage the day to day running of a responsive innovative and high quality service for people with sensory impairments and complex needs. Special attention will be paid to the creation of a continuous learning environment that will seek to maximise the potential of each person. You will assist the manager in the running of the service including co-ordinating and supervising the team to ensure that all shared responsibilities are fulfilled and systems maintained. Your time will be split with supernumery time to complete admin tasks and completing care hours. You will support visits from the operations manager to complete audits. You will support the registered care manager with rotas, supervisions and covering of shifts. You will be mentoring and inducting new and present staff, monitoring the processes which are currently in place, completing risk assessments and support plans. A full UK driving licence and use of your own vehicle is desirable for this role. However, we will endeavour to make reasonable adjustments for any disabled candidates that apply. About you The successful candidate will need to demonstrate willingness to participate in training and development. You will need to communicate in a variety of different methods and be prepared to deal with challenging situations. You will also be expected to work on your own initiative and show patience and understanding. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of motivating others including carrying out supervision meetings. You will have experience of working with adults with disabilities, monitoring the care provided and identifying and resolving issues arising from the 'day to day' operation.
