Overview
2nd Line Support Engineer Guildford £26-28K per annum My client is seeking an experienced 2nd line support engineer to join their team within the heart of Guildford. The 2nd line Support Engineer would be responsible for supporting their local surrey clients. The 2nd Line Support Engineer will: Answer support queries via phone and email Log all customer requests and incidents Diagnose and rectify technical problems and queries Provide applications and infrastructure support to our growing client base Manage third party vendors and suppliers Set up new users' accounts and profiles and dealing with password issues Resolve incidents with printers, copiers and scanners and upgrade different types of software and hardware Mentor team members and provide training Manage incoming escalations and resolve these effectively Work with senior engineers on escalated tickets. Log and escalate calls with third parties where required, ensuring communication back to the customer Manage Microsoft Exchange 2007, 2010, 2012 & Online Server administration including Windows Server 2008, 2012, Active Directory, File and Print services, shares and Group Policy Manage escalations from the 1st line team, researching issues and escalating where needed to our clients or a 3rd party. The ideal candidate will: Have Excellent communication skills; both verbal and written Work with enthusiasm and willingness to learn Experience using Microsoft Server and Desktop operating systems Have basic network troubleshooting Have excellent teamwork skills A strong working knowledge of MS Office Have basic understanding of PC, laptop and tablet set-up and configuration. Have A Certification or higher preferred but experience essential Have a minimum of 2 years' experience in a helpdesk environment This role is a 40 hours week.
