We have an exciting opportunity for an E Grade Staff Nurse to join our Plastics & Reconstructive Surgery Unit, located at The London Clinic's Duchess of Devonshire building based in Central London, W1G 6JA (Close to Baker Street & Regents Park tube stations). Established in 1932, The London Clinic is one of the UK’s largest independently owned non-profit hospital, with state-of-the-art facilities located on Harley Street. Our main hospital site spans 8 floors comprising of 234 beds and 10 theatres. Our Plastics & Reconstructive Surgery Unit comprises of 17 rooms all with en-suite facilities. We provide surgical care to patients with a range of diagnostics from the different specialties, including Plastics and Reconstructive, Breast Surgery, Bariatric Surgery, Inpatient ENT and Ophthalmology as well as Investigative Procedures. Job Description As an E Grade Staff Nurse, you will assess, plan, deliver and evaluate high standards of nursing care, ensuring the highest level of customer service is delivered to our patients. Job Type: This is a full-time, permanent position, working 37.5 hours per week. Day shifts include including alternate Weekends (Mixed Shifts - Long days 7:45am to 8:15pm / Nights 8pm to 8am). Salary: The attractive salary range for this role is £38,531 - £43,169 (Inclusive of London Weighting), and will be dependent upon skills and experience. We also offer excellent career development; with clear career pathways and access to further education. Duties & Responsibilities Provide individualised patient care of the highest standard. Promote a patient focused approach to care as well as safe practice and professional conduct. Encourage good working relationships within the multidisciplinary team, to ensure the effective care and treatment of patients. Coordinate the patients discharge arrangements and complete patient documentation correctly. Supervise junior staff in the delivery of care and help maintain a suitable learning environment for staff. Contribute to research and development programmes as well as uphold quality initiatives that improve ‘customer care’ and participate in the audit process for monitoring and reviewing nursing Quality. Skills & Experience Registered Nurse with valid NMC pin. Post registration surgical and/or medical experience. Experience of Plastic surgery nursing and working in breast care and breast cancer management would be desirable. Knowledge relating to quality assurance and the principles of quality control. Awareness of evidence based practice and the importance of research based care. Excellent communication skills with the ability to prioritise own workload effectively and work as part of a team.
