Senior IT Test Consultant Location: Epsom Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 DOE Job Description Due to growing demand in our aviation market we are seeking an experienced Test Analyst help grow our assurance and test capability at the UK’s busiest airport, Heathrow. You will be joining a growing team providing testing support to projects that aim to enhance the passenger experience. Our projects include, automated systems for the passenger journey, from check-in to boarding; systems for monitoring occupancy and queuing; and integrated security screening systems. Our role is to assess, using formal testing techniques, that the systems procured on behalf of our client are ‘fit for purpose’ and ‘meet the business need’. Our work is focused on system integration with and acceptance with a user’s mindset. Requirements Qualifications Degree level qualification in Computing, Engineering, Science or Mathematics ISTQB Software Testing Foundation Level Certificate Essential Criteria A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience of software system testing. Experience of system integration testing, functional and non-functional testing, user interface testing. Able to demonstrate testing skills throughout a full software project lifecycle. Ability to demonstrate effective planning, risk management and stakeholder communication. Demonstrate commercial awareness. Team management experience. Desirable Criteria Airport system experience Previous experience as Business Analyst, Designer, Architect or Developer. Ability to demonstrate an understanding of how systems work from a behavioural perspective (workflows, dataflows, screens, reports, interfaces), and assess the impact of a failure on users or the business. Knowledge of test automation Software development experience (not essential) The role You will be given significant responsibility and exposure to our clients and be expected to act as an ambassador for our business. You will be accountable for the overall quality and timeliness of the delivery of assignments and the role may also require you to lead our clients team responsible for specific project outputs. Managing and working within multi-disciplinary teams (at our clients’ premises and in our clients offices) to deliver excellent results for or clients. Develop Test Strategies, Test Plans and engage in all aspects of the Fundamental Test Process. Prepare cost estimates and manage test resources to maintain budget and programme. Effectively manage product/test risks and issues. Lead the testing activities on assigned projects, including managing the work of others, supported by the Test Manager Preparing reports and presenting to a range of client stakeholders. Manage, support and provide on-the-job training to junior staff. Ensuring compliance with industry standards and client stipulated policies and procedures. Contributing to the development of Operational Improvement tools, techniques and methods that can be shared to build capabilities within our Operational Improvement team and Business Consulting practice. Contributing to sales – including bid development and sales presentations to clients and developing new business propisitions. Supporting the development and delivery of marketing campaigns. The role will be based in Epsom, visiting the client site 3-4 days per week. Flexible working options are available.
