Job Description

Within the TFS New Business department, proposals are processed through the Finance@ point of sale and proposal management system. A proportion of these will be underwritten automatically by the credit scorecards within the system, the remainder being referred to an underwriter for a decision. The role of the Senior underwriter is to work with New Business Management and other departmental underwriters to ensure that service levels to dealers and customers are maintained. Breadth of responsibilities Senior/Specialist - Implements a range of specialized administrative procedures and/ or technical tools; takes a lead in training and coaching staff. Key responsibilities The responsibilities and authority stated below are subject at all times to company policy. * Operate a level 4 underwriting authority to a mandate as detailed in latest underwriting guidelines. * To assist in the day to day management of the New Business functions of proposal processing and payouts, working closely with department management and supervisors, ensuring a consistent approach to underwriting decision making. * To underwrite corporate credit proposals and credit line applications to a level 4 authority as detailed in latest underwriting guidelines., making recommendations to higher level authorities on applications beyond this limit. * To provide input to the quarterly Retail Risk Committee. * Assisting the New Business Supervisor/Manager in the management of scorecard performance, providing regular analysis and reporting and recommendations based thereon. * Liaising with dealers and customers, as appropriate, displaying a customer service focus in the resolution of disputes as necessary. This also extends to communication with TFS field operations. * Any other appropriate duties as required by line manager.
