Having secure successful long terms contracts across both public and private sector, and with more in the pipeline, the requirement for the permanent appointment of an additional senior building surveyor at their Surrey office has arisen. Your new role Covering a variety of instructions for both public and private sector clients across projects ranging in value from £10K-£multi-million, you will be responsible for a full scope of technical building surveying duties such as: Planned maintenance surveys Condition surveys Defect analysis and diagnosis Specifications You will also take collaborative approach to client management on a project by project basis, working with senior team members in order to deliver projects to clients' briefs, managing their expectations and keeping them informed throughout. In conjunction with client management you will be tasked with promoting and securing repeat business where appropriate. What you'll need to succeed In order to succeed in this role you will need to hold a Bachelors Degree or equivalent in Building Surveying or Building Studies, and you will be working towards your RICS assessment of professional competence. You will need a strong foundation of practical building surveying skills across a broad range of technical skills as well as the drive and desire to develop these skills and progress within a consultancy environment. You will need to hold a full UK driver's license and be willing to travel for projects and meetings as required. The ideal candidate for this role will possess strong team-working skills, the ability to delegate appropriately and work collaboratively with colleagues from different teams. It is essential to your success that you can conduct yourself professionally around colleagues and clients alike, strong communication is paramount to a successful, client facing surveyor. What you'll get in return In return for your commitment you will receive an annual salary in line with the regional average, currently benchmarked at £45-55K (inclusive of car allowance). In addition to this you will receive private healthcare and flexible benefits package as well as a private company pension and a performance based bonus accrued at 2.5 x annual salary billings. Annual leave entitlement is 25 days per annum bank holidays. Your new company are committed to investing in your career and future with them, and you will therefore receive comprehensive support towards your APC to ensure you are given the best possible chance of passing first time around. Once you are chartered, your new company will also cover your annual subscription fees. You will receive an annual performance review from your line manager which will also involve a review of your salary vs your annual fees, with the potential to increase your base salary a possibility every 12 months if your performance reflects it.
