MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT £45K CAR INTERNATIONAL FOOD DISTRIBUTION Co SLOUGH We are looking for a Management Accountant who is able to work in a fast paced environment, who is able to help develop the growth and progress of the business. The Management Accountant will provide a high-quality support service by liaising with management colleagues on all aspects of finance, combining accounting skills with business management skills. They will be responsible for delivering agreed business, and financial objectives through a high performing team. Key accountabilities The Management Accountant must hold the appropriate technical knowledge, experience and qualification to perform the role effectively, including: Responsible for the integrity of the financial records and accounting processes and for ensuring that control procedures exist are managed appropriately to good corporate governance Preparation of the monthly management accounts and financial statements ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and reporting requirements are met and deadlines and performance targets are achieved. Working with all departments and management team to help make financial decisions Cash flow management ensuring all the information is up to date and spending is kept in line with budget General Responsibilities In addition to the above core duties the role is expected to comprise: Maintenance of purchase ledger Coding, posting purchase invoices Reconciliation of suppliers statements and resolving suppliers enquires Coding and posting the bank statement and employee’s expense forms Preparing and processing monthly supplier payments Maintenance of the fixed asset register Calculation and posting depreciation, accruals, prepayment Preparation and submission of the VAT returns Overseeing the Payroll and Credit control function and ensuring that the required outputs are achieved Ownership of the Balance Sheet reconciliation Reporting on Variance Analysis and analysing the company financial performance Implement recommendation based on these findings with the most profitable outcome an suggestion improvement where needed Interpreting and communicating financial data to non-financial managers Preparation of different sales and profit margin analysis for the sales team and directors Preparation and Presentation of detailed annual Budget, Formulation the budgets in accordance with the strategy determined by the Board Planning and attendance of VAT and PAYE inspections Preparation of information for the annual Statutory Accounts, Liaising with Auditors Assisting with management accounting system integration in merger timeline planning and implementation Monthly and Quarterly reporting to banks and independent lenders Management of the Finance Team, reporting to the MD and CFO Work with senior team to develop and improve business processes and financial performance Formulating and ensuring implementation of credit control policy Insurances, Risk management Essential Experience: CIMA/ ACCA qualified Proven ability to manage a high performing team IT literate with an excellent working knowledge of Excel/Word Proven ability in dealing with important clients or influential individuals Working in a fast paced environment to high levels of accuracy Knowledge of accounting terms and concepts Understanding of finance regulations and legislation Personal Attributes: Ability to work as part of a team Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines Ability to work under own initiative Confidentiality at the highest level Excellent communication skills Excellent analytical and problem solving skills Good planning and organisation Good time management High level of attention to detail and accuracy Positive 'can do’ attitude Professional approach and attitude
