Cheadle Royal Hospital operates a comprehensive inpatient mental health service for young people aged between 13 and 18 years, comprising open acute, low secure and psychiatric intensive care service. The Young People's Service is made up of three wards; Meadows, Orchard and Woodlands. These Wards offers care for young people with a range of mental health presentations. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying a clinical caseload on Woodlands Low secure unit alongside professional leadership of a Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMHs) Occupational Therapy Service. Woodlands Unit is an unique specialist national low secure facility, providing therapeutic rehabilitation for female adolescents, aged 13 years - 18 years with complex needs who require a longer-term therapeutic intervention within a secure in-patient setting. The Unit provides care for up to ten young people who present with severe deliberate self-harming behaviours, complex post-traumatic stress disorder, emotional dysregulation, and attachment difficulties. Often the young people who are referred to Woodlands have experienced multiple admissions in various settings where placements have broken down and the young person is in crisis or the risks have significantly increased and are unmanageable is these environments. The aim of our admissions is to provide an intensive therapeutic programme of rehabilitation to promote recovery whilst managing and reducing risk enabling successful transfer back into a community setting. The post holder will be required to have previous experience of working within CAMHs services and ideally secure settings. The post holder will be responsible for providing highly skilled assessment and treatment of a designated case load within the frame work of an established programme. Involving the following: -To ensure ongoing monitoring and evaluation of the Occupational Therapy process in line with sound evidence based practice. -To attend MDT, CPA, case conferences, referral meetings and nursing handover. -To manage a defined caseload using evidence based/client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions and records all interventions. -To develop skills and knowledge through participation in a Professional Development Planning process to meet the competency framework. -To work within CAMHS Setting providing a service to clients who are deemed to have complex and challenging needs. -To lead and co-ordinate a small team of OT's and TI's across our CAMHS Services.
