Lexcel accredited firm in Northamptonshire seeks a skilful Community Services and Litigation Lawyer on full-time, permanent basis. A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a talented lawyer to join our client’s thriving practice located in Northampton. The successful applicant will utilize their expertise in community service and litigation to manage a complex caseload, whilst demonstrating an understanding of the local government legal framework. There may be a requirement to travel to the firm’s other offices and attend evening meetings therefore flexibility is essential. Responsibilities • Practice and policy issues • Contested EPO applications • Interim and full care order applications • Care and adoption proceedings • Advocacy • Defending judicial review proceedings • Prosecutions and civil actions including personal injury, insurance matters, debt recovery, judicial review, employment and education • Undertaking legal research The Candidate • Solicitors, barristers and chartered legal executives with a minimum of 2 years’ PQE • Experience in community services and litigation is essential • Experience of dealing with public law Children Act matters ideally gained in a local authority setting • Ideally a Member of the Law Society’s Children Law Accreditation Scheme • Able to manage and supervise staff • Highly organised with the ability to meet and exceed tight deadlines • IT proficient The Firm Our client is a highly regarded social enterprise law firm specialising in the public sector.
