Overview
Enigma People Solutions is looking for a Digital Design Engineer to join the hardware team of our multinational electronics client’s Imaging Division based in Edinburgh. The position of Digital Design Engineer requires a motivated individual with strong communication and team-working skills. The candidate should be passionate about SOC design and the field of photonics. You will play an important role in the development of new and existing products. This will involve a broad range of tasks covering the entire spectrum of the digital design flow; from specification to implementation, designing and integrating custom IPs within a wider system architecture including analogue components, embedded microcontroller management, testbench simulation, FPGA and SOC verification. Specific responsibilities will include HDL and embedded firmware design (C and assembler) and verification at IP and SOC levels, FPGA and SOC synthesis and final evaluation of the design on silicon. Key skills & experience Relevant degree level qualification Solid understanding of digital theory, including static timing analysis (STA) and high-speed/low-power design techniques. Competent digital circuit design skills Proficiency in Verilog HDL/System Verilog, and the C programming language Cadence HDL simulation (IUS) Scripting languages (PERL, Python) Embedded microcontrollers Throughout our decade long relationship with this client, we have placed numerous candidates; many of whom are still happily there, working on cutting edge technologies for one of Europe’s most innovative tech giants.
