TSC Lead Technician
Overview
In these extraordinary times of the coronavirus outbreak telent is continuing to Recruit. We provide services to customers which are integral to providing mission critical systems and infrastructure across the UK and Ireland and we need to continue to deliver those services. To help limit the amount of face to face contact during the recruitment process, we will now do more online assessments and use Skype/Conf Calls for interviews wherever possible . Typical Deliverables Able to diagnose, repair and configure complex technical equipment supporting the business. Develop and maintain professional working relationships with internal/external customers and third party suppliers. Ensuring issues are managed and/or escalated appropriately. Be the point of contact for technical enquiries; where appropriate escalate to Line Manager. Lead technical investigations to identify and rectify problems with equipment performance. Be aware of technical developments, modern techniques and test equipment. Able to scope and provide costings for potential work into the TSC and see through to mobilisation Attend internal and external meetings and respond to actions as required. Through continuous improvement, identify opportunities to improve service, processes or systems. Lead problem management; apply root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to avoid repeat incidents. Manage the sourcing, ordering and evaluation of components or spares to support repairs and projects. Progress and implement equipment modifications as required. Ability to construct specialised test rigs. Able to supervise a team to ensure good working practices, efficiencies in productivity and H&S standards are met Responsible for the prioritisation and allocation of work through the department. Data integrity; ensure accurate records and details are maintained within the department. Financial controls; to operate within agreed budgetary targets. Occasional travel to telent and customer sites Key Objectives Customer Service To understand and exceed customer expectations. To provide technical support. Ensuring all work is carried out using safe working practices, regulations are observed, near misses are reported, waste management is processed and controlled accordingly, and high standards of housekeeping are always maintained. Security; help maintain a secure working environment in line with the requirements of the telent Security Policy to protect individuals, information and telent's assets. Skills Experience : Minimum 3 years' experience in a technical role Experience in a supervisory role Skills/Qualifications : Industry recognised qualification in electronics or similar - or - be able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge Good IT literacy; ability to use Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word Essential: Working knowledge covering a wide range of mobile radio equipment/systems. Proven ability at fault finding and repair to component level. Competent in the use of a wide range of test equipment. Able to build trusting and collaborative relationships with colleagues. The incumbent of this role will be required to provide personal details to comply with and maintain security clearance.
