Overview
Brief overview of the role: Senior Infrastructure Engineer needed to join a Leading Secure IT Managed Service Organisation based in Shrivenham, Oxford. Role will be located at our Customer site University of Birmigham This is a great company to grow with and will offer many prospects for the future Duties: Routine duties include but are not limited to; Planning, development and testing of Change Requests with an understanding of business impact. Provide 3rd/4th Line Technical Support both in and out of business hours. Develop technical routines and instructions for Support Teams. Delivering infrastructure solutions supported by the production of solution high and low level design documentation. Project experience (leading and management). Owning Technical relationships with Vendors. Subject matter experts to support presales. Essential Skills and Experience: Data Centre and campus network design with strong experience working with routers, switches, LAN/WAN, DNS, load balancers and firewalls (Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet & Aruba). Experience of designing, deploying and supporting routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF and various VPN/encryption technologies. Working knowledge of monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Nagios and CACTI. Virtualisation (VMware) - NSX. Storage and Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HPe, Dell). Strong Communication skills for both customers and senior management. Desirable Experience: RedHat / Centos LINUX support and configuration. Working knowledge of SQL Server. 3-5 years' experience of Microsoft operating systems. Anti-virus technologies at enterprise level. Scripting. DR and business continuity management experience. Incident, change and access control management (ITIL). Knowledge of Mobile Device Management (MDM) Personal Attributes: High standard of communication and motivation. Excellent time Management & organisational skills Ability to communicate technical solutions to both technical and non-technical audience Aptitude to learn new technologies. Prepared to travel when necessary to customer site or other Prolinx locations. Work autonomously or as part of a team.
