Overview

Spire Fylde Coast is currently recruiting for a Finance Assistant to be responsible for providing an efficient patient accounting service, in accordance with all hospital and corporate policies and procedures, whilst liaising with clinical and administrative staff, patients, insurers and centralised Spire finance functions. Our hospital has a full multi-disciplinary medical team based onsite. We practice some of the most advanced treatments using the latest generation imaging and diagnostic technology. This means we can offer everything from screening and rehabilitation through to leading-edge surgical procedures and excellence in specialist fields like orthopaedics, cosmetics and general surgery - all delivered through our expert and caring teams. Duties and responsibilities Monitor and review on a weekly basis the level of work in progress Carry out daily charging of patient services and consultant fees onto computerised hospital patient administration system and liaise with relevant departments regarding charging queries Deal with payment queries from consultants, patients and insurers Responsible for consulting room rental charging on a daily basis and ensure invoices are raised on a monthly basis Daily banking of patient and consultant monies, and reconciliation of cash sheets, along with the monthly bank reconciliation Responsible for issuing of petty cash in accordance with hospital policy Set up new vendors and consultants on the patient administration system Inputting of supplier invoices onto the hospitals patient administration system in a timely manner Provide ad-hoc cover within the Stores department, allowing the department to function as required during periods of absence or leave Who we're looking for Previous experience in a similar role Excellent customer service skills Highly motivated individual High level of attention to detail Desirable – AAT qualified or currently studying Benefits We offer employees a competitive salary as well as a comprehensive benefits package which includes but is not limited to: 35 days annual leave inclusive of bank holidays Employer and employee contributory pension with flexible retirement options ‘Spire for you’ reward platform - discount and cashback for over 1000 retailers Free Bupa wellness screening Private medical insurance Life assurance Save an average of £50 per month with our free onsite car park Please see the attached benefits leaflet for more information.
