POSITION: RF Engineer SALARY: £50-70k BENEFITS: Flexi-time working hours HOURS: Full-time -2 years fixed-term contract with option of permanent contract LOCATION: Telford, United Kingdom, TF7 4QJ DESCRIPTION: Freshseal Ltd. is a food technology company that has developed a revolutionary low temperature and low energy cooking and drying system. The MILDTECH is an industrial scale vacuum assisted dual frequency microwave cooking and drying system. We have been awarded a Horizon 2020 SME Instrument Grant (Phase 2) to optimise and scale our existing technology and accelerate delivery to market. We are seeking an experienced Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer with a background in design and manufacturing to join our growing team of engineers. You will work closely with Senior Management, with other members of the design team and with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the delivery of the MILDTECH product lines according to our project schedule. The successful candidate will report to Senior Management and will be responsible for: Design and development of RF energy system components and associated hardware for application in industrial and domestic food processing systems Specification and installation of associated electrical, electronic, and electro-mechanical equipment Close engagement and collaboration with our technology partners, a designer and developer of high-power RF energy system components based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, and a developer of Process Analytical Technology (PAT) real-time monitoring systems and machine control software based in Barcelona, Spain. Contributing to Project Management Plans and Risk Management Plans Reporting progress, including any changes made to plans and production timescales, to Senior Management and the Project Manager Participating in regular project meetings with the Project Manager and ensuring that designs are delivered to cost Informing Project Manager of necessary amendments to the Project Risk Register Establishing requirements documentation for third parties Identifying company IP and assisting with patent applications in a timely manner Upscaling and equipping of company production facilities according to production and design requirements Assisting with the design of FAT and SAT procedures and with the production of associated documentation Creation and close-out of punch-list items Helping to establishing a high-quality methodology for drawing up of Technical Manuals, User Manuals, Installation Manuals, etc. Essential requirements: Master’s degree in electrical or electronic engineering or a similar discipline Comprehensive knowledge of RF principles and theory and a solid understanding of their application to food processing technologies Comprehensive knowledge of solid-state RF energy system components and GaN-on-silicon (GaN-on-Si) semiconductor technology Knowledge of RF test equipment and processes used to measure and evaluate component and system performance in accordance with system requirements Knowledge and experience of using industry standard RF design tools Ability to fully define and document system requirements and critical design features Proven track record of working in RF equipment manufacturing projects from the industrial design phase through to production phase Experience of working according to Project Management principles and processes Ability to work within a deadline-driven environment Excellent communication and reporting skills, and problem solving Willingness to travel if necessary Experience of conducting FAT’s and on-site commissioning/SAT’s Willingness to quickly learn about linked technologies beyond his/her current expertise In order to apply please send a C.V and covering letter by clicking on the apply button below.
