Overview
T2M Resourcing are working on behalf of a global market leading manufacturing business who have an opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join their team. As Assistant Accountant you will have responsibility for multiple entities ensuring accurate reporting and that robust procedures and controls are in place. Ideally you will be part qualified or have completed AAT looking to study ACCA or CIMA. Competitive Salary £23,000 to £26,000 plus Study Support after completion of 3-month probationary period, plus Benefits Package and the genuine opportunity for career progression. As Assistant Accountant key responsibilities will include: Reconcile all balance sheet accounts within assigned entity on a monthly basis, including sub-ledger to GL reconciliations Escalate any areas of risk or non-compliance to management Month-End - Processing of all transactions required, including accruals and prepayments Control file compiled monthly, with all lead schedules and supporting evidence completed Process all intercompany transactions for assigned entity Ensure monthly agreement and settlement of inter-company balances Maintain fixed asset register and capital expenditure tracking Complete physical asset verification visits at sites on a 3-year cycle Comply with year-end reporting instructions Submit weekly cash collection figures and analysis of bank balances Support Management Accounts team with P&L reports, budget & forecast information Travel to site locations within UK as required (maximum 4 times per year) Strong business partnership with all areas of the business based on a customer service mindset Identify process improvement opportunities to drive efficiency within the business To be successful in the role of Assistant Accountant you will have the following skills and attributes: Studying towards CIMA / ACCA / AAT or equivalent qualification High level of numeracy and IT literate (Excel/Powerpoint). Knowledge of JD Edwards, Vision and IBM Cognos Controller, TM1 (advantageous not essential) Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong organisational skills and ability to work to tight deadlines Experience of working in a Shared Services environment (advantageous not essential) Strong process and financial control discipline So, what’s in it for you?
