Overview
The opportunity… This is a highly successful financial services organisation with multiple strong brands in the UK market. This is an exciting time for the business as they are expanding their SRE capabilities. Currently they have an opportunity for a Site Reliability Engineer to join their team and are in a position to take someone on with proven SRE experience, or with strong infrastructure / application support experience and a desire to move into SRE. This position is based South of London in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The office is very close to public transport links and a flexible approach to work is on offer where employees are able to work 1 - 2 days from home per week. Your responsibilities will include… A significant focus of the position will be ensuring health and performance of key software applications and monitoring / reviewing app performance Working across core infrastructure components i.e. middleware, databases Managing services across Linux, Windows and Cloud platforms (predominantly AWS) Implementing new business functionality, automating routine tasks and working to improve systems reliability Addressing and removing technical debt Providing support for other brands across the business What you'll bring to the role… Strong experience within infrastructure and application support Solid understanding of how applications work and the underlying services they use Experience working with Middleware technologies such as WebSphere, Tomcat, Apache SQL skills from working with either SQL Server or Oracle databases Ideally experience with Java based applications, but .Net, MS Dynamics, JavaScript experience still considered Ideally you have worked in large, enterprise environments preferably within financial services An analytical approach and fine-tuned problem solving skills What the role will offer you… The opportunity to enhance your SRE skills within a successful, enterprise environment Attractive annual salary performance bonus Excellent insurance discounts and private medical Pension 9% of base salary Discounts on gym memberships, tickets, travel and more Does this sound like the opportunity for you?
