Job Description Slater and Gordon is a leading consumer law firm and our mission is to give people easier access to world class legal services. The Opportunity: We are looking to hire an experienced Associate Employment lawyer with 3 to 5 years PQE to join our team in London. This team helps our customers in areas such as discrimination, harassment, unfair dismissal and redundancy. The role is required to manage client matters, provide a high level of client care, whilst maintaining adherence to our business directives and contributing their expertise in client management with validation from their team manager. Responsibilities: • Ensures efficient file management of cases including adherence to timescales; compliance with precedents, letters or documents on the case management system with appropriate supervision. • Supports Senior Management to research, identify and target potential new clients. • Oversees and produces complex documents, briefs and affidavits through plain English (verbal and written communication). • Applies a deep understanding of law and significant expertise in one or more areas within Employment. • Manages client meetings, sets expectations with clients and leads complex negotiations. • Supports Department heads and senior management to research, identify and target potential new clients. • Sets own goals to achieve financial targets. • Ensure financial aspects of matters including time recording, billing and debtor management are managed to enable achievement of personal fee budgets. • Delegates appropriately assigning responsibility for tasks and decisions, identifying success measures, supporting as needed • Is aware of the risk profile to area of business and works to minimise exposure, including by supervision of staff About You • SRA/CILEX Qualified or relevant experience • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise work for various stakeholders • Excellent communication skills, verbal, written and listening • Excellent understanding of legislation/legislative processes within their relevant specialism, through practical experience • Excellent attention to detail What we offer in return: In return we offer a competitive salary with market leading benefits, a positive and inviting work environment, exposure to industry specialists and the fantastic opportunity to develop a rewarding and successful career with an award winning law firm
