Overview
Our client, a well respected business services organisation that works with clients across the Thames Valley, seeks a Head of Finance and Operations. Reporting to the CEO, the Head of Finance & Operations is responsible for finance, HR and operations functions for the organisation, including managing an accounts assistant and overseeing an IT team of two. This is an all-round accounting position where you'll be tasked with producing the monthly management accounts and reporting those results to the board, financial accounts to trial balance, VAT returns, budgeting and forecasting, cash-flow reporting and providing the numbers for the outsourced payroll company. In addition to heading the finance department, you will also support the CEO in developing HR processes and procedures, company compensation and benefits administration and record keeping, maintaining all employee files and records as well as driving new initiatives. This role would suit someone from a small organisation where they have held a similar position with a broad remit across finance, operations and HR. A nice, high-profile role within an interesting organisation Skills / Experience / Attributes: Qualified / part-qualified accountant or 'qualified by experience' Proven experience of managing a finance department Strong management accounting experience Experience in dealing with HR related matters Sage Line 50 (preferred) & MS Office experience Board level experience, including occasional presentations Good communication, interpersonal and line management skills Experience with dealing with third parties, such as bank and audit relationships Familiarity with membership organisations and/or charities would be beneficial
