Overview

Currently recruiting a Management Accountant for a market-leading business in Nottingham. The business has an enviable client base and continues to grow its revenue with the development of broader service offerings across its client base. The business is now looking to strengthen its finance team with the appointment of a Management Accountant to take responsibility for all central reporting/budgeting/forecasting along with broader responsibilities as part of the Financial Control team. Purpose of the role The role will be responsible for working with the Financial Controller to ensure the integrity of financial information, as well as taking primary responsibility for the firm’s central team budget and forecasts. Responsibilities  Leading month-end processes, reconciliations, and reporting, Fixed asset accounting including register maintenance o Balance sheet reconciliations o Variance analysis, investigating any discrepancies o Review of month-end tasks performed by others in the department  Managing the integrity of the nominal ledger, including setting up and maintaining nominal accounts and cost centres  Leading the annual budgeting and periodic reforecasting processes for the firm’s central teams  Working closely with budget holders and other heads of department to develop and maintain the firm’s budget and forecast models  Preparing the firm’s weekly cash flow forecasts  Producing monthly management accounts for the bank and quarterly covenant reporting  Compliance reporting: completion of the quarterly VAT returns and other statutory returns as required  Assisting in producing the annual statutory accounts  Carrying out project work as and when required Technical skills  A qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA)  Must be IT literate, have good keyboard skills  Advanced Excel and experience of Word is essential. Person specification As part of the Finance team, you would be expected to have the following skills and experience:  Confident, articulate and adept in obtaining and processing large volumes of data  Attention to detail  Able to build relationships across the business and work effectively with non-finance colleagues
