Overview
MULTI TRADE Operative ASAP START My Clients are currently looking for an exceptional multi-trade operative who can plan and fit entire kitchens and bathrooms. Not only utilising carpentry and plumbing skills but also able to fit flooring, tiles and redecorate. We are looking for someone with previous experience of working in a Social Housing environment with experience in void works and planned kitchens and bathrooms. If you are self-motivated and have a proactive, positive approach to your work then we would like to hear from you. Main Duties: To work alone or as part of a team to carry out repair works of a minor nature across the trades to occupied and vacant properties including carpentry and brickwork, replacement of fixtures, door and window locks, window panes, painting and decorating, etc. To receive works orders from the Scheduler remotely via mobile phone or PDA. To attend as quickly as possible any emergency repair requests issued by the Scheduler. To maintain a diary of non-emergency repairs visits both to occupied and vacant properties, to ring customers on the day before an appointment to remind them of the appointment and to attend as arranged to carry out works. Where the work involves materials and/or equipment which do not appear in their van stock, to attend the authorised merchant and/or hire centre in advance to obtain materials in accordance with purchasing procedures. Upon attending an address, to introduce themselves, show an identity card and describe the work to be undertaken. If the work needed is substantially different to that on the order, to ring the office for further instructions. To complete the repair works as rapidly as possible ensuring that a quality job is done and, wherever possible, completing the job at the first visit. If this is not possible, the property should be left clean and tidy, a follow-on appointment agreed with the resident, and the computer system amended accordingly. To obtain a sign off from the customer to confirm that they are happy with the work carried out.
