Overview
An opportunity has arisen within the Group Finance team of a market leading Plc business for the Head of Group Financial Reporting to provide maternity cover. The position will be based in High Wycombe reporting to the Finance Director. The Head of External Financial Reporting is responsible for the statutory external financial reporting and for managing the interim and year end audits. This role also involves advising the business on technical accounting matters. Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities: Responsible for the statutory financial reporting process in order to achieve accurate and timely external financial reporting. Responsible for ensuring that external Group financial reporting complies with IFRS, Disclosure and Transparency rules and Companies Act requirements. Manage the annual and interim audit process including the relationship with the auditors to ensure smooth, timely process. Responsible for ensuring external advisors (auditors, actuaries, banks) are aligned in providing accurate and complete information for financial reporting process. Liaison with the tax teams. Preparation of board papers for consideration and approval of proposed new accounting policies by the Board. Responsible for the implementation of changes to IFRS across the Group. Review and management of work produced by the Statutory Reporting Accountant Ad-hoc projects such as leases and project strike off. Person Specification: Qualified accountant, either ACCA or ACA, preferably with a minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role. A good understanding and experience of systems and processes and a track record of managing and utilising them in a structured fashion. Strong technical accounting. Computer literate and an advanced user of Excel. Excellent communication skills at all levels, with both financial and non financial staff.
