Overview
Gleddoch, one of the most prestigious hotel, golf and spa resorts located in Renfrewshire is recruiting a Sous Chef to join our existing team. Gleddoch is a 70-bedroom hotel,golf course, luxurious spa with food and beverage outlets. The ideal candidate must be someone who has vast experience working within a freshfood background and can display their passion for food through the variable dishes they can create. The position of Sous Chef at Gleddoch is a demanding one and will not be right for everyone, it will be attractive to candidates who want to take on a long term challenge and be part of the development journey that we are proudly embarking on. Part of the challenge will be to assist with the development of menus offering unique dining experiences to guests and visitors. Training, development & consistent performance managing of junior chefs will be a large part of the Sous Chef role, it’s the only way in which we can truly build a successful team. The candidate that is right for Gleddoch will be used to working with volume, have experience in a 3 or 4 star hotel and will be able to prove previous commitment through length of service and personal achievements. The successful candidate will need excellent organisational skills to ensure that the kitchen department is equipped,prepared and ready to service the business on hand. Forward planning will be essential to ensure that the goals and vision of the hotel are met. General Comply with the company codes of conduct at all times. Perform other tasks at the level of the role as directed by your line manager in pursuit of the achievement of business goals. Have the desire and ability to improve your knowledge and abilities through on-going training and development. Ability to work as part of a diverse team with colleagues from different viewpoints, cultures and countries. Produce reports as required/requested by your line manager. Attend business reviews/board meetings as appropriate and actively contribute to all internal meetings. Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding and awareness of all policies and procedures relating to health, hygiene and fire safety. Familiarise yourself with emergency and evacuation procedures.
