The Role & The Right Person Reporting to the Manager, our Deputy Managers play a pivotal part in the success of the business. It’s all about creating a collaborative, high performing team and delivering the best service to our guests, whilst ensuring the pub is profitable, pleasant and safe. Responsibilities Team: It takes a great team to deliver a memorable experience. As a deputy manager, you will; Demonstrate a strong hands on work ethic Demonstrate your leadership through effective communication, engaging and motivating your team through pre-shift briefs Support the Manager in the recruitment, on boarding, induction and training of any new team members Inspire, develop and lead your team members, to support in ensuring great retention. Drive individual high performance through regular one to ones and coaching, ensuring they understand their goals as well as confronting poor performance and creating improvement Show passion for the brand and ensure your team are equally as knowledgeable and confident around delivering the values Support the Manager in the delivery of regular team meetings and training sessions Guest Looking after our team, will enable us to deliver a brilliant memorable service to each and every one of our guests. You will; Have excellent Food & Beverage knowledge and understand changing demands Have an eye for detail and thrive in a guest facing environment Be the host on management shifts Deliver and support in delivery of consistent experience for all our guests Ensure all health and safety measures are met to the highest standard daily Proactive in identifying and quickly actioning safety issues Demonstrate a clear passion for achieving high guest measures. Ensure any queries or complaints are solved swiftly with guests feeling fully satisfied Know your regulars, and build rapport with new guests Actively involved in the community, and spot opportunities for the pub to support the local community There are no normal working hours, managers work hours as necessary to fulfil their duties and ensure their guests come first. Hours of work will include daytimes, evenings, weekends and public holidays. Ensure the premises is operational for all permitted hours Maintain internal and external standards to ensure a great customer journey Turn compliance into compliments Bookings and event management - taking accurate information and managing the bookings to maximise sales, liaising with large groups, taking pre-orders and confirming all bookings Business Fastidious operator, deputise for busy services and holidays where guests are always satisfied, and processes are always followed Oversee daily business operations and follow daily admin processes Support the Manager in effectively managing all controllable costs including daily and weekly management of rota’s and labour Seek to understand revenue opportunities through analysing sales figures and effective forecasting with the Manager Complete regular liquor stocks and action plan for improvement to contribute in achieving required GP Support the Manager to manage the business to deliver agreed KPIs and maximise profit Keep up to date with licensing legislation, lease with authorities and overall responsibility for the premises Operate within the Premises License Conditions Personal License Holder (non-essential) Solutions Focused This job was originally posted as www.caterer.com/job/89764524
