Your New Job The bookkeeper role in this business is a busy, autonomous role as the number one in finance, working closely with external accountants. You will be left to manage your time and duties as you see fit, with the backdrop of support that the MD offers when needed. The day to day responsibilities include completion of accounts to trial balance, VAT returns, bank reconciliation, purchase ledger, sales ledger, petty cash management and monthly reports. The payroll is outsourced to the external accountants but will involve collating payroll information monthly for submission. You will oversea the credit control undertaken by the administration team, stepping in with support and advice when needed. All accounting duties are undertaken in Sage, therefore knowledge of this system is necessary. Your Experience & Our Requirements This role requires an individual who has operated as a bookkeeper in an SME environment, where they are used to being the sole person in finance. There will be training on the company's systems and procedures but you must be fully competent in all tasks detailed above. You will be a hard-working team player who enjoys autonomy who is looking for a company within which you can develop over time as the business continues to grow. You will have a flexible attitude and enjoy supporting colleagues in their various roles across the business.
