Overview
NSC is supporting the UK Government’s research of next-generation Simulation and Synthetic Environments (SSE) for the British military. Over the next 6 years we will undertake the exploitation of “Synthetic Environments and Simulation Technology” to incorporate emerging systems and processes to enhance future training capabilities. We require a researcher experienced in the application of VR and AR technologies to training to join the team to deliver this very important piece of work. The work consists of, although not limited to; Research Areas: Innovative Solutions to Force Preparedness, e.g. simulation support to fast-tracking new equipment into service, providing decision support tools Experimentation and Exploitation, including models and concept demonstrators, Human/Machine Interface solutions incl. use of AI, sim support to experimentation across MOD. Technical Areas: Simulation Composition: Scenario generation and visualisation; Virtual and constructive simulation; Real time and faster-than-real-time simulation. Synthetic Environments Integration: With operational systems and other simulation. Live/synthetic or mixed reality inter-operability; Architecture, integration, testing Application Support: Experimental design and delivery; Learning methods and Training systems; Decision Support Data Analytics & Visualisation; Virtual prototyping.
