Job Description

Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHSFT is looking for a highly motivated, experienced Clinical Research Nurse or Midwife to join the Sheffield Centre for Reproductive Research (SCEPTRE). The post holder will work alongside the Lead Research Nurse (Projects), Chief Investigator and an established team of Clinical & Academic Researchers at the Jessop Wing and University of Sheffield - Clinical Trials Research Unit. The SCEPTRE group has been awarded funding from the NIHR Health Technology Assessment (HTA) to run two large trials in the area of Women's Health & Reproductive Medicine. The desired applicant will join this growing team to help deliver the multicenter trials, develop skills in clinical project management and have the opportunity to progress their own research & academic skills. As part of the team they will be required to provide leadership and input into the development of new protocols and study procedures to ensure the 'do ability' of the trials across all participating research sites nationally to enable all potential patients to participate in high quality patient centred research. The post holder will have extensive research delivery experience and the motivation, enthusiasm and innovation to develop in the post. Experience in the clinical area of Women's Health & Reproductive Medicine while being beneficial is not essential. This vacancy is advertised on a fixed term contract basis for the maximum period of 2 years. Where there is potential, the secondment/fixed term contract may finish early, or in the first instance, the secondment/fixed term contract may be extended due to the internal/external secondment of the substantive post holder. The fixed term contract status of the post holder will be reviewed in accordance with the Trust's legal obligations regarding fixed term contracts and secondments in relation to the substantive post holder.
