Scientist and Lab Coordinator - Life Sciences - Cambridge Newton Colmore Consulting are working with a Cambridge-based life sciences instrumentation manufacturer, helping them find a scientist to work on new technologies and to run the lab. You will be charged with ensuring the smooth running of the biochemistry laboratories on site in Cambridge and will be working closely with other scientists and project leaders to make sure research and development projects are on track and on time. You will be dedicated to maintaining an organised laboratory environment, ensuring that project teams have the space to work efficiently and safely. You will take on new responsibilities, seek challenging objectives, and pursue these with tenacity and pragmatism. You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the biolabs, including ensuring that the appropriate COSHH and risk assessments are in place and maintaining an ordered environment. You will also be asked to contribute to project work, whether it be running molecular tests, making reagents, maintenance of mammalian and bacterial cell cultures, cloning or helping to generate novel technology and contributing to cutting edge scientific experiments. To be considered for this exciting role you will have significant hands-on technical experience in a detailed analytical role coupled with a strong academic record in biochemistry or molecular biology. Any experience with ISO 13485 standards and assay development in DNA analysis would be advantageous.
