Principal Scientist - Molecular Biology & Genetic Engineering - Cambridge Our client, a rapidly expanding cell therapy company, are currently looking to recruit an experienced Principal Scientist to help spearhead their R&D programmes. The work they are undertaking is truly revolutionary and they are well funded. We are looking for a strong candidate with a background in molecular biology and genetic/genome engineering to lead their technology development and cell line generations. You will be leading a team of scientists to support on-going projects and be a central point within a wider R&D context. If you are looking for a unique role that will afford you the opportunity to see at first-hand the impact of your work, then please read further Principal Scientist Responsibilities: Leading a wider team of scientists to achieve on-going project goals Work as a pivotal part of the research and development team, conducting complex scientific research that will contribute to the overall direction of the business Providing technical and scientific expertise by contributing to proposals, meetings, publications and business development activities Designing and carrying out genetic/genome engineering programs in iPSC's Principal Scientist Profile: Extensive molecular biology experience with a PhD in a relevant area. Ideally you will have 3-5 years of applicable follow-on experience, either in academia or industry A driven desire to strive for scientific excellence through discovery, with experience in team and project management Effective management of complex projects under pressure and in an expedient manner Team player, self-motivated with positive thinking and a "can-do" attitude Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills Essential Experience: Broad molecular biology background (including advanced cloning) Genome engineering - CRISPR/Cas9 edited cell lines Demonstrable project management experience (both internally and externally) Desirable Experience: Experience with iPSC's High-throughput genetic screening Exposure with NGS experimental design This role offers an excellent starting salary, with a host of competitive benefits on top.
