Overview

Practice Manager, Perm, MASH Southend Council are currently looking to a permanent Practice Manager to work within the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) the post holder will be working with vulnerable service users in the Borough. The post holder will be expected to work in partnership with a wide range of professionals from other agencies including Police, Health, National Probation Services, Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health Services, voluntary organisation and Social Workers including Senior Managers to ensure a seamless quality service. The role will also involve dealing with very challenging contacts, meetings and responding to families that are in crisis. The job will involve working strictly to policy and procedures of Southend Children's Services, involvement in extremely high risk decision making and the exercise of a high level of judgement and personal responsibility for the safety of children. It also involves to working to very demanding timescales. You will be aware of and act within the legal framework for children and families Skills & experience The successful candidate should have the skills to respond and progress to enquiries and contacts from a variety of sources quickly and efficiently as per policy and procedures, providing high quality advice and guidance. To ensure that they act as a filter to inappropriate contacts, provide appropriate guidance and signpost to a more suitable resource where social care threshold is not met, and that contacts which are not accepted by Social Care are discussed with the relevant support services to identify the best resource and according to thresholds. Experience in understanding of initial view of risk, obtaining comprehensive information from referrers, pursuing lines of enquiry at the earliest point of contact and advising referrers appropriately as to the next course of action to enable children and young people to remain safe. Support Social Workers to deliver and maintain excellent customer service, carrying out effective Employee performance, development reviews and supervision.
