The Role We are looking for experienced Bid Manager to join our team working on a range of new business campaigns specifically with our government defence customers. You will play a leading role in delivering winning bids, alongside our current Bid Manager, working with opportunity owners and the wider business in shaping customer requirements and developing our capture plans, win strategies and price to win. We use a Shipley-based process to guide capture and bid activity for key opportunities within the portfolio. This is a highly networked role, linking business winning with business delivery and requires an ability to work under pressure and meet challenging deadlines. This role will involve driving interaction with the sales team as well as all aspects of the business. You will be accountable for adherence to corporate governance, following and improving the scalable business winning process from formal opportunity select to contract award development & delivery to ensure success. Where You Fit In Programmes Director Bid Manager Bid Coordinator The Person We Seek Driven, adaptable, innovative, self-starter capable of quickly assimilating information from a range of sources and contributes towards providing high quality bid documents to our customers. We are looking for someone who is an excellent communicator, with previous Bid Management experience in the defence sector, particularly Electronic Warfare and Cyber Security who is keen to make a difference by suggesting bid management improvements, implementing changes and progressing our business. The Tech You’ll Use We use a variety of software packages including Microsoft Office, Adobe InDesign, SAP and MS Dynamics. Opportunities Available To You Shape future business winning processes, procedures and tools. Lead bid and proposal activity for a variety of pursuits across our Electronic Warfare and Cyber Security capabilities. To build a relationship with our customers and key stakeholders. Your Experience & Skills Full experience of the MOD bid lifecycle is essential. Capture management tools and methodologies such as Shipley and APMP. Qualification desirable. Comprehensive understanding of the UK Defence and/or Security markets and an appreciation and understanding of the rules and regulations governing the public sector/defence tendering process. Experience of planning and delivering bid & proposal plans in line with strategy, ensuring benefits align and including Business Case generation. Strong leadership skills and previous experience of leading proposals creation in conjunction with the Bid Team, planning and monitoring the process, managing risks, resolving issues and initiating the appropriate actions. Analysed tender requirements and collaborated with Bid Teams to develop proposals and compliance matrices that capture and track deliverables. Previously defined and executed plans for key governance reviews and experience of presenting to executive teams at division, sector and segment levels. Strong stakeholder management experience and ability to develop relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
